Air Marshal Paramjit Singh Gill AVSM VM Assumes Appointment of SASO, WAC

Air Marshal Paramjit Singh Gill is an alumnus of National Defence Academy and was commissioned in 1975 in the fighter stream. The officer is experienced on the Gnat aircraft and MiG 23 BN. He has more than 1000 hrs of instructional flying and about 4000 hrs of total flying. 

He is a Qualified Flying Instructor (QFI), holding A2 instructional category and served as a Directing Staff at the prestigious Flying Instructors School, Tambram. He was Chief Instructor (CI) at Air Force Stn Bidar, Deputy Commandant and later Commandant at the College of Air Warfare, Secunderabad. He commanded the Tactical Air Centre (TAC) at Ambala; Air Force Stn, Wadsar and was Air Officer Commanding, AF Stn Kalaikunda, a model station for conduct of Air Exercises with Air Forces of friendly foreign countries. He has held appointments of Asst Chief of Integrated Staff (Joint Operations), ACIDS (Jt Ops), at HQ IDS. He has been Air Officer Commanding, J & K Area and was SASO, CAC since August 2011 before assuming his present appointment as SASO, WAC. He was awarded PVSM and Vayusena Medal (VM) for distinguished services. He has been instrumental in formulation and planning of policies on to Joint Services Operation, National Disaster Management and joint C4I2 architecture, at HQ IDS. 

He is an alumnus of Defence Service Staff College, Higher Command and National Defence College. His wife, Mrs Pushpinder Gill is an experienced teacher.
