Minister for Tribal Affairs Sh. V.Kishore Chandra Deo Hosts Reception and Felicitates 53 Tribal Guests and Tableau Artists

Minister for Tribal Affairs Sh. V. Kishore Chandra Deo hosted Reception for 53 Tribal Guests from 27 states and U.T.s in New Delhi today. He also felicitated folk artists of tableaux that participated in the recent Republic day parade in Delhi. 

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister emphasized on greater interaction among different tribal groups in the country who live in remote and forest areas.

 He said, such interaction will strengthen the national unity and integrity and will inculcate in them a sense of brotherhood, patriotism and national pride. 

The Minister focused on various welfare schemes implemented by Government in fields like literacy, particularly women literacy.

 Schemes aiming at improving health, nutrition and sanitation, drinking water, road connectivity, skill development among tribals and proper management of procurement, storage and sale of minor forest product are also being given priority and will result in over all economic and social development of tribals, the Minister said. 

Since the Republic Day celebration in 1952, every year government holds reception for tribal guests/ community leaders from across the country after the Republic Day with a view to giving them wider exposure and assimilating them into the national social mainstream. 

Similarly, to encourage the talent of folk artists and to inspire them, the government also felicitates tableau artists, who participate in the Republic Day Parade in Delhi.
